This April, Raising Explorers eagerly welcomed our children into a world of excitement and learning during our Easter School Holiday Club. From March 25th to April 5th, our doors were wide open, welcoming them into a world of adventure and exploration. As advocates for active engagement and meaningful experiences, we crafted a holiday club that offered a refreshing alternative to holidays spent on the phone or on other devices.

Crafted with Care

At Raising Explorers, every school holiday is an opportunity to inspire young minds and foster a sense of curiosity. Weeks before the holiday club commenced, our dedicated staff worked tirelessly to create a timetable brimming with excitement and variety. From thrilling outdoor excursions to peaceful mornings in the library, every detail was carefully considered to ensure maximum enjoyment for our little explorers.

New Beginnings

The highlight of this holiday club was the debut of our brand new, fully decorated childcare room. In this unveiled hideout, our children were spoiled for choice with an array of activities to suit every interest. From diving into captivating stories in our book corner to unleashing their inner superheroes with our dress-up rack, there was never a dull moment. The giant Connect-4 game, towering over our little explorers, became a battleground for epic battles of strategy and skill.

Furthermore, our childcare room offered a haven for relaxation, complete with calming crafts and child-friendly shows on our expansive TVs. Whether indulging in arts and crafts or capturing precious moments on TikTok, our children embraced every opportunity for fun and self-expression.

Culinary Creations

Throughout the holiday club, our budding chefs took to the kitchen to create mouthwatering delicacies. From home-made samosa rolls to delectable cupcakes, the aroma of freshly baked goods filled our centre, tantalizing taste buds and sparking joy in equal measure. Chocolate-dipped marshmallows and savoury cheese and onion pastries added to the culinary delights, leaving our children with a sense of accomplishment and pride in their scrumptious creations.

Holiday Madrassah Camp

In a first for Raising Explorers, we introduced our Holiday Madrassah Camp—a vibrant blend of traditional learning and fun activities. Alongside Quran and Qaidah recitations, our children enjoyed engaging Islamic games, built 3D models of the three holy sites in Islam, crafted their very own sadaqah boxes, went on a treasure hunt and so much more! The Holiday Madrassah Camp initiative aims to blend Islamic games and activities seamlessly with our traditional learning to ignite excitement in our children’s Madrassah experience.

A Burst of Creativity

This school holiday club witnessed an explosion of creativity from our young explorers. Our 9+ boys delved into DIY projects with enthusiasm, painting their personalized football pitches and designing unique T-shirts in our T-Shirt project. Meanwhile, our 9+ girls elevated dotty art to new heights, transforming simple coloured dots into mesmerizing masterpieces. Who knew such small dots could create such big wonders?  Not to be outdone, our juniors embarked on an imaginative journey, crafting their very own monster university complete with hand-crafted clay figurines in a display of different colours, shapes, and sizes. From felt cushions to 3D rockets to lively sports tournaments, the afterschool club buzzed with excitement, ensuring there was never a dull moment.

As the two weeks of the Easter Holiday Club have drawn to a close, our children departed with hearts full of joy and minds enriched with new experiences. They proudly carried home their handmade crafts, delicious culinary creations, and countless cherished memories. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey and look forward to welcoming them back for future holiday clubs.
