On Wednesday 27th July 2022, Radio MAC 107.1 FM invited Raising Explorers and Alpha United Juniors FC – a football club which we have built an amazing partnership with – on air for a 2-hour show!
Radio MAC (Make A Change) is a one-of-a-kind, Islamic community radio station that broadcasts from Bradford, United Kingdom. Its aim is to spread the word of Islam, educate the community and provide a space for ambitious Muslim businesses to tell their story and inspire the future generations.
As Raising Explorers is soon approaching our 10th year anniversary, the radio show was a great way to speak about our 10-year journey and all the effort and hard work which has been put into making our centre the incredible establishment it is today! Beginning from a small after-school club in 2012, Raising Explorers has grown exponentially throughout the years and has now become an award-winning centre, providing six unique services and hosting monthly holiday clubs for children as well as annual summer holiday trips for the entire community! Just recently, Raising Explorers had even won The Sankore University Award for Excellence in Education in an incredible award show alongside winners such Dr Sagida Bibi who played a crucial part in the race to find a vaccine for COVID-19 and others that have contributed crucially to society. We experienced influential figures like Central Government’s Sir Richard Hoyle (Speaker at the House of Commons), Yvette Cooper (Shadow Home Secretary), Afzal Khan (MP for Manchester) and much more witness us receive our award!
During the radio show, we also spoke regarding exciting future plans for Raising Explorers, great projects and how we can contribute to help and support parents and juniors in the best way in our partnership with Alpha United Juniors FC!
Alpha United Juniors FC is a local football club looking to engage in competitive sport. They have many awards under their belt including the FA Charter Club of the Year Award where they competed against and came out on top from 200k clubs! The club has also been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service which is an MBE – As of today, Alpha United Juniors FC stands as the only club to receive this award as it is usually reserved for charities!
Together with Alpha United Juniors FC, our aim is to provide your child with the full package they need: Health and physical skills from Alpha United Juniors FC whilst Raising Explorers will equip them with the just as important academic and spiritual knowledge.
