In a world where compassion and empathy are more critical than ever, Raising Explorers After School Club in Bradford is stepping up to make a difference. With the ongoing refugee crisis affecting vulnerable populations, particularly children, Bradford Council, Social Services and Raising Explorers has come together and initiated a heartwarming campaign to support refugee and asylum-seeking families residing in local hotels.

The club’s mission is clear: to collect essential items such as spare prams, new clothes, nappies, and toys suitable for babies aged 0-12 months. These items are not just material possessions; they represent hope, comfort, and the promise of a brighter future for those facing immense challenges.

This initiative was born out of collaboration with local social services, who have already collected the items but recognise the ongoing need for support. In response, they reached out to Raising Explorers After School Club to serve as a drop-off point for additional donations, amplifying the impact of their efforts.

Located conveniently off St Mary’s Road, BD8 8AW, next to Auto Tech Garage, in Carlisle Business Centre, Raising Explorers After School Club has opened its doors as a central hub for donations. Through their partnership with social services and the generosity of the community, the club aims to gather a diverse array of items to meet the varied needs of refugee and asylum-seeking families.

In the spirit of community and compassion, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible parents of Raising Explorers and the generous Bradford Community whose support and donations have been nothing short of phenomenal. So far, the outpouring of generosity has resulted in the donation of multiple brand-new items, perfect for children and babies. From pushchairs to adorable clothes, nappies, a mountain of fun toys, and even baby baskets, the response has been overwhelming. Raising Explorers is profoundly thankful for the sincerity, generosity, and kindness that emanates from our community. It is heartening to know that when the call for help is sounded, the Bradford Community can always be counted on to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Raising Explorers After School Club is fostering a culture of empathy and inclusivity that resonates far beyond its walls.

But the impact doesn’t stop there. Through acts of generosity and compassion, the club is also providing an invaluable lesson to its young members: the power of empathy and collective action. By actively participating in the donation drive, children learn firsthand the importance of giving back and standing in solidarity with those in need.
